In commemoration of 150th Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Ramakrishna Mission with financial assistance of Indian Government had taken the initiative of two integrated child development projects namely – Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa and Vivekananda Swastha Seva Prakalpa in the year 2010.
This project is being conducted by our monastic inmates and the volunteers of Vivekananda Study Circle and dedicated teachers. Children of the economically backward families are included in the projects. Children from Kamarhati Slum area and Adarsha Nagar, Belgharia, are brought by two buses of Ashrama in every five days in a week. They come, take tiffin, play for a while and then attend the classes. Our buses drop them down back to their places after they finish their dinner.
In a nutshell, to help them grow physically, mentally, intellectually and to infuse in them some of the moral values is the sole purpose of this project.
