This institution, a branch of the Ramakrishna Mission (Head Quarter: Belur Math, P.O. Belur Math, Howrah) was started in Kolkata in 1916 and is located at present in a fairly big campus of 37 acres at Belgharia, Kolkata 700 056. It was the first educational venture of the Ramakrishna Mission in Northern India.

This Home is a residential institution for imparting value-based education to the youths of our country. It is specially meant for poor but meritorious H.S. and college students studying in different colleges and H.S. Schools in and around Kolkata, with a library, a prayer hall and a small vocational unit to train the inmates.
